Buzzfeed Hates Black People... Seriously
With only a few days into the year Buzzfeed done went and fucked up. This is nothing new from Buzzfeed. They’re always doing something slightly stupid in efforts to literally throw out content. However, this time they disrespected the Queen and convinced me that they really just don’t like Black folk.
If you can recall, last year Buzzfeed released a video of Black people asking other Black people 27 questions that we all know the answer to. Questions like, “Why do we can each other the n-word, but get vehemently upset when a White person says it?... Why can’t I like Anime?... Do you really believe that Black is beautiful?” The list goes on… Needless to say, it was some Grade A, organic, non-GMO bullshit and several of your favorite commentators published content about the video. It was an all around fail for Buzzfeed and every single Black person that decided that they would be a part of that wretched production.
And I can’t talk about how Buzzfeed must hate Black folk if I fail to mention how they continuously steal things from Black content creators without any sort of sourcing or recognition. Buzzfeed attempts to be a socially aware space that often uses the platform to address issues such as racism, sexism, and homophobia, etc.. However, I’m a little confused at to how the creators at Buzzfeed can create a video addressing the harm of appropriation whilst using the uncited work of a less popular Black content creator. Where they do that at? In the words of TaxStone, “Who raised you, beloved?!”
Their latest offense comes when they take a beautiful waffled color young, Black woman and attempt to recreate Beyonce’s most iconic moments. Where do I start? First, her braids were a white girl’s failed attempt to cornrow during a middle school slumber party. And I’m pretty sure Kim Kimble is somewhere with indigestion after looking at the way they literally placed those wigs and half wigs on top of her had like a New Era fitted cap. It looked as if they didn’t want to take the extra time to sew or clip the back of the wigs down… so they didn’t. Not to mention they failed to properly cut the lace of the wigs. If there is one thing that Queen Bey is known for, it’s a slayed and laid wig-- they failed. They also seemed to use makeup that just didn’t quite hit the mark. Her makeup is the result of walking into a Sephora and allowing a White girl that says “Trust me. My uncle’s wife has skin like yours” apply your make up. The undertones never really were right and the colors they chose didn’t compliment her skin tone. And let’s not talk about the lack of blending. Again, this was an all around fail for Buzzfeed and the innocent Black woman that was chosen to take part in this horrible recreation.
All of these things and other small offenses lead me to believe that Buzzfeed really ain’t rocking with Black folk like they say they are. They’re doing a good job of phony kickin’ it, but they won’t get passed me. I can see through the bullshit that is Buzzfeed and y’all need to cut the shit!

P.S. Y'all can go and find the video if you want. I'm not linking that mess on my site.
